Mental Chemistry by Charles F Haanel
From the author of The Master Key System comes this enlightening book specifically designed for those "left-brained" thinkers out there.
Haanel explains, in a rational and scientific way, all about the law of attraction, the law of vibration, and why and how it works. His fundamental message is that we get out of life what we put into life - no more and no less. And he exhorts us to reach for the stars.
"Abundance is a natural law of the universe. The evidence of this law is conclusive; we see it on every hand. Everywhere Nature is lavish, wasteful, extravagant. Nowhere is economy observed in any created thing. The millions and millions of trees and flowers and plants and animals and the vast scheme of reproduction where the process of creating and re-creating is forever going on, all indicate the lavishness with which nature has made provision for man. That there is an abundance for everyone is evident; but that many seem to have been separated from this supply is also evident; they have not yet come into realization of the universality of all substance and that mind is the active principle which starts causes in motion whereby we are related to the things we desire."
Haanel also clearly lays out the concept of cause and effect, and uses examples to demonstrate that we get what we ask for.
This is a brilliant book for those who may be struggling to understand why they are not receiving what they seek through the Law of Attraction.

Your Forces and How to Use Them by Christian D Larson
Larson explains that most people believe that what exists on the surface is all there is of man. However, when the mind discovers that its powers are inexhaustible and that its faculties and talents can be developed to any degree imaginable, the fear of failure will entirely disappear. In its stead will come the conviction that man may attain anything or achieve anything.
He goes on to say that not a single individual can fail to realize his wants and reach his goal after he has learned how to use the powers that are in him, and gives us the following set of Promises we should make to ourselves:
- To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
- To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
- To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
- To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
- To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
- To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
- To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
- To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
- To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticise others.
- To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear; and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
- To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but in great deeds.
- To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

How to Be A Genius Or The Science of Being Great by Wallace D Wattles
Wattles wrote The Science of Being Great in 1911, a year after his classic The Science Of Getting Rich. In this book the author explains that everyone can be great. According to Wattles "greatness is equally inherent in all, and may be manifested by all. Every person may become great. Every constituent of God is a constituent of man. Man may overcome both heredity and circumstances by exercising the inherent creative power of the soul".
Wattles goes on to say that there is a genius in every man and woman, waiting to be brought forth. Of our potential, Wattles says "you are not barred from attaining greatness by heredity. No matter who or what your ancestors may have been or how unlearned or lowly their station, the upward way is open for you. There is no such thing as inheriting a fixed mental position; no matter how small the mental capital we receive from our parents, it may be increased; no man is born incapable of growth".
Wattles also encourages us to think - not just read, but actually think! "Greatness is attained only by the thinking of great thoughts. No man can become great in outward personality until he is great internally; and no man can be great internally until he THINKS. No amount of education, reading, or study can make you great without thought; but thought can make you great with very little study. There are altogether too many people who are trying to make something of themselves by reading books without thinking; all such will fail. You are not mentally developed by what you read, but by what you think about what you read". He encourages us to read less and think more.

The Secret of Success by William Walker Atkinson
William Walker Atkinson was a very important and influential figure in the early days of the New Thought Movement. Whilst he gained much material success in his original profession as a lawyer, the stress and over-strain eventually took its toll, and he experienced a complete physical and mental breakdown and financial disaster. He looked for healing and in the late 1880's he found it with New Thought. From mental and physical wreck and financial ruin, he wrought, through its principles, perfect health, mental vigor and material prosperity.
Atkinson wrote a great many books on New Thought as well as nearly a hundred books with many other pseudonyms including Theodore Sheldon, Theron Q.Dumont, Yogi Ramacharaka, Swami Panchadasi, The Three Initiates, Magus Incognitus and probably others not identified at present.
The Secret of Success was written in 1907 and attempts to explain what features and attributes will contribute to achieving success in Life. It is not a cut and dried plan, and as Atkinson himself says "So, therefore, do not expect to find this book a "Complete Compendium of Rules Conducive to Success, Approved of and Formulated by the Successful Men of the World who became acquainted with these Rules only after they had Attained Success, and consequently had Time and Inclination to Preach to Others". This is not a book of that sort. It is Quite Different. We hope you will like it - it will do you good in any event".
According to Atkinson, success is determined by 7 key attributes of a person - individuality, spiritedness, latent power, soul-force, desire, personal magnetism and attractive personality. In this volume, Atkinson explains each attribute in detail, and explains how to cultivate them.To download your free copy of The Secret of Success, just right click the link below and choose "Save Target As". Prosperity Through Thought-Force by Bruce MacLelland
Another New Thought movement writer, Bruce MacLelland, wrote this book chronicling his own life story of how a man of less than average ability, who had failed over and over again in all he did, discovered and began using Universal Principles.
"In this little book I have written, in my own way, hot from the soul, what I know to be true. It is my book pure and simple, written from the fullness of a spirit at peace, written for you because it will do you good and because I could not get it out of my mind until it was written."
It is MacLelland's view that it is neither the size of the man nor the learning he possesses that has anything to do with the accomplishment of his object, but that, instead, it is the condition of his mind, coupled with the desire and expectation of success, that seems to attract everything to him.
Interestingly, MacLellands believes (unlike many of his peers) that this principle is not based on your belief or faith - that has nothing to do with it. "It is a scientific truth and it matters not what you think about it so long as you work to develop yourself. Study carefully and reflect on these ideas, one thing at a time, then do it and keep on doing it. Believe what you please about it. Keep your own counsel."
He goes on to advise that when you do not have immediate success, and everything looks discouraging, just remember that it is a stage of progress which all encounter, and forget it for a time. Rest yourself and gather strength for renewed effort. This power of forgetting is the best test of mental strength. When everything looks gloomy, when the sunshine is hidden by the clouds of distrust, life a failure, and the world a mistake; then to be able to get it all off your mind, to interest yourself in something light and happy, thereby taking on strength, is one necessary attribute to success in any line of effort.
"Learn to control yourself that your desires may be entirely for love, peace, purity, strength, justice, decision, force, and these things will be added to you and money will follow as fast as you allow your personality to develop - you therefore only need study yourself, practice autosuggestion, use the Law of Vibration, employ the power of imagination, and the future is assured."

The Power of Silence by Horatio W Dresser
No name stands out more prominently in the history of the New Thought movement than that of Horatio W. Dresser - perhaps the most prolific writer yet developed within the movement.
1894 saw the publication of his first full-length book, "The Power of Silence." By 1903 that book had gone through fifteen editions. The edition we have available for you today is one of the last revisions, published in 1904.
The Power of Silence is Dresser's first book on improving one's life through understanding the work of Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, the founder of the 19th-century "New Age" philosophy of New Thought. He seeks to answer some of the largest questions in human existence, including the reason for suffering. Spiritual seekers will be inspired by Dresser's presentation of an orderly and eternal universe that is both rational and religiously inspired. Later in life, he left the New Thought movement and went to work at Harvard University, where he wrote about philosophy. Because of this abandonment of his earlier work, his writings are often forgotten today.
Dresser's doctrine, says, in a word, Be unselfish; have an ideal outlook; see yourself as you would like to be -healthy, happy, well-adjusted to life, helpful, wisely sympathetic, ever ready with an encouraging word, looking for the good, growing strong in wisdom and power; patiently awaiting occasions, yet always sufficiently occupied, so that you will have no time to be annoyed, fearful, restless, or morbid.

The Path of Prosperity by James Allen
James Allen was born in 1864 in England, and was 15 when his father, a businessman, was robbed and murdered. He left school to work full-time to help support the family. He later married, however at age 38, inspired by the writings of Leo Tolstoy, he retired from employment to pursue a simple life of contemplation. There he wrote for nine years, producing 19 works including his most famous book, As a Man Thinketh.
Allen's books illustrate the use of the power of thought to increase personal capabilities. He believed that prosperity doesn't come from the relentless acquisition of things, but from the relentless improvement of ourselves. In this book you will learn how to change your life through the way you think. This book will guide you to an understanding of how to find peace and prosperity by changing your attitudes and reactions to life's challenges.
As Allen himself says in the foreward to this book:
I looked around upon the world, and saw that it was shadowed by sorrow and scorched by the fierce fires of suffering. And I looked for the cause. I looked around, but could not find it; I looked in books, but could not find it; I looked within, and found there both the cause and the self-made nature of that cause. I looked again, and deeper, and found the remedy.
I found one Law, the Law of Love; one Life, the Life of adjustment to that Law; one Truth, the truth of a conquered mind and a quiet and obedient heart. And I dreamed of writing a book which should help men and women, whether rich or poor, learned or unlearned, worldly or unworldly, to find within themselves the source of all success, all happiness, all accomplishment, all truth. And the dream remained with me, and at last became substantial; and now I send it forth into the world on its mission of healing and blessedness, knowing that it cannot fail to reach the homes and hearts of those who are waiting and ready to receive it.

Thoughts Are Things by Prentice Mulford
"Thoughts are Things" is the beginning- of your personal understanding, of the Victorian New Thought Movement, and in turn, the modern New Age. A book that is hard to describe, yet indispensible reading!

This book was written for people who are seeking answers to how life works, and how to obtain practical spirituality. Like other Mulford books it is designed to help individuals shape and further their lives.
Always described as rather odd and other worldly, Prentice Mulford believed in, and practiced the arts of mental telepathy and prophesy; he predicted the airplane, and his holistic views of nature and ecology, and his appreciation and respect for women and those of other races are now a part of the fabric of our culture.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow Rich is a classic motivational book. Written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie, it was published in 1937 at the end of the Great Depression. The text of Think and Grow Rich is founded on Hill's earlier work, The Law of Success, the result of more than twenty years of research based on Hill's close association with a large number of individuals who managed to achieve great wealth during the course of their lifetimes.
At Carnegie's bidding, Hill studied the characteristics of these great achievers and developed fifteen "laws" intended to be applied by anybody to achieve success. Think and Grow Rich itself condenses these laws further and provides the reader with 13 principles in the form of a philosophy of personal achievement.
Reflected in these principles is the importance of cultivating a burning desire, faith, autosuggestion and persistence in the attainment of one's goals. Hill also discusses the importance of overcoming many of the most common fears that can adversely affect one's thinking and potential.
Most self-made millionaires will tell you that it was one book that made the greatest contribution to their success, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill.
And yet, millions of people have read this book without having achieved any great success as a result of having read it. Why?
Napoleon Hill himself says that the secret to creating wealth and success is in the book, on every page, but hidden in plain view. Self-made millionaires agree with him. Still, most readers don't get the major "ah-ha!" that leads to success and wealth. Why is it that most readers never uncover the secret? Hill, himself, claims that you have to be ready and willing to receive the secret. Most are willing. Are you ready?
